Why aren't we complaining about immigrants from the North?
I constantly read complaints about immigrants coming in through Mexico (Hispanic immigrants) I don't see complaints about illegals coming in from other countries like Russia for instance. Why aren't we complaining about caucasian immigrants? Is it okay to ignore the European crime syndicates and focus on Mexican Cartles? Don't you find this as being racist?|||I think what most people don't like about the immigrants coming from Mexico is that they are trying to change things to suit them. The rest of the immigrants are smart enough not to protest. They learn English. They blend in so there is no face to put with them. I would provide you with the bias cases, but the law enforcement folks do not provide polygraphs, and cannot complete investigations on almost any of the complaints. No one knows if the numbers are correct.. they were merely complaints. However, we do know the illegal aliens from mexico have a far higher rate of shooting American Citizens than any other group in the statistical pile.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico - For the past month, America's attention has been focused on the Middle East war. During that time, another 300,000 illegal aliens have crossed America's border with Mexico. But you won't believe how Mexico treats its illegal aliens.
Illegal aliens from Mexico were allowed to march through America's cities, demanding citizenship – some even waved the Mexican flag. But illegal aliens inside Mexico, mostly from Guatemala and Honduras, are literally on the run.
Some travel by train and some hide, trying to stay one step ahead of the Mexican Federal Police.
The Mexican government was outraged by the movement to build a new wall on America's southern border. Mexico's Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez went before the cameras to protest.
Derbez said, "Mexican immigrants are not felons or terrorists. They are human beings who deserve respect and the opportunity to live with dignity."
But in Mexico, when it comes to the treatment of its illegal aliens it's, ‘Do as I say, not as I do.’
Mexico has called U.S. immigration policy "harsh," and has called the proposed wall on the U.S. Mexico border "shameful." But some have called the Mexican immigration policy "hypocritical."
Enter Mexico illegally and you're treated as a felon. If you're caught by the Federal Police, you'll be fortunate if you're only deported immediately. The unfortunate are robbed, abused, raped, or even murdered by corrupt police officers.
Fernando Aguilar Neri coordinates Red Cross efforts to help illegal aliens in Mexico.
“When people approach us, they are usually fearful that we work with the government and are afraid of being reported,” said Neri. “…One of the seven principles of the Red Cross is complete neutrality and independence, so we can't cooperate with the Mexican government on the illegal alien issue.”
Neri says that most illegals moving through Mexico try to avoid the cities.
The Catholic Church also shields illegal aliens from the Mexican government. CBN found two shelters for illegals in Mexico City, but weren't allowed inside.
Most of the Central Americans inside are on their way to the United States. They'll be fortunate if they arrive unharmed.
One immigrant from El Salvador said, "If you are carrying any money, the police take the money and then say, get out of here."
"We still have 20 days of travel (to reach the United States)," another one said.
But if you're a Mexican wanting to enter the U.S. illegally, then you can count on the Mexican government's help and support. It even has a special department called Grupos Beta that helps Mexicans cross the U.S. border illegally.
But in an interview with CBN News, the head of Mexico's Immigration Service, Hipolito Treviño, denied it.
“Grupos Beta is the Mexican government initiative which does not help people cross the border, but they do assist them when they have problems in the border area,” Trevino said.
But Grupos Beta gives them a booklet, which includes tips on how to safely cross the U.S border. Trevino denied the allegation that immigrants are also given maps by the government.
“No maps,” he said. “We give them recommendations about the dangerous animals they'll encounter, how much water they need every day, what to do in case they get lost, what to do in case they get detained by the border patrol, which paths are dangerous because of crime.”
The reason for the government's help? The cash sent home by Mexicans in the U.S. constitutes the second biggest source of foreign currency in Mexico after the oil industry. Last year that was $20 billion, or 2 percent of Mexico's GDP.
About 10 percent of Mexico's population is now living in the United States, that’s over 10 million people. And how many illegal aliens in its own country has Mexico legalized in the past five years? Just 15,000.

"We still have 20 days of travel (to reach the United States)," another one said.
But if you're a Mexican wanting to enter the U.S. illegally, then you can count on the Mexican government's help and support. It even has a special department called Grupos Beta that helps Mexicans cross the U.S. border illegally.
But in an interview with CBN News, the head of Mexico's Immigration Service, Hipolito Treviño, denied it.
“Grupos Beta is the Mexican government initiative which does not help people cross the border, but they do assist them when they have problems in the border area,” Trevino said.
But Grupos Beta gives them a booklet, which includes tips on how to safely cross the U.S border. Trevino denied the allegation that immigrants are also given maps by the government.
“No maps,” he said. “We give them recommendations about the dangerous animals they'll encounter, how much water they need every day, what to do in case they get lost, what to do in case they get detained by the border patrol, which paths are dangerous because of crime.”
The reason for the government's help? The cash sent home by Mexicans in the U.S. constitutes the second biggest source of foreign currency in Mexico after the oil industry. Last year that was $20 billion, or 2 percent of Mexico's GDP.
About 10 percent of Mexico's population is now living in the United States, that’s over 10 million people. And how many illegal aliens in its own country has Mexico legalized in the past five years? Just 15,000.

In the case of Mexico, whenever their weak political system cannot support its people efficiently, the natural reaction is for those disadvantaged to head for America and make a mockery of our current immigration laws. Much the same has happened in other scenarios such as Cuba, Haiti and their droves of immigrants to the U.S. The only thing that keeps the poor folks from the rest of the world from being here in huge numbers is they are to far away. This is called 'Protectionism' by some and I don;t mind the term at all. Don't you want to protect our American sovereignty. Isn't that what the President pledges to do when inaugurated. It's what I pledged when I joined the Air Force many years ago. We have reasonable immigration laws that have worked for many years. I'm asking immigrants and their governments to respect them.
Finally, you have made some mention of ignoring European crime syndicates and focusing on Mexican cartels. When was the last time you were affected by a European Cartel. What do you suppose we should do about this dreaded problem. I'll tell you what we should do, "Focus on Mexican Cartels".

Why does my DVR consider syndicated shows as new?
I have a comcast DVR, and I find it frustrating when I set up a series recording of a currently active show, and older syndicated reruns get recorded as well. Can anybody explain why they don't mark syndicated shows as re-runs in the DVR programming? YAY! I know I wont win this but what you describe is one of my favorite kinds of music. SLIPKNOT is the ultimate in switching off. They used to be really "heavy" and kinda got a bad rap but all things considered their style has become allot more tame and melodic as of lately. I would also have to suggest Killswitch Engage, Avenge Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine and I don't know if you like anything much older than these bands but Fear Factory does quite alot of yelling and singing, singing and yelling. Ultimately in my honest opinion it doesn't get much better than nine inch nails or Type O negative. The Government is not doing their part in controlling these people and happenings that is why it persist and we see them in streets. It is not our duty to correct them. Best leave them alone. Do not give alms because there are offices of the Government whose job is to take care of them like DSWD.

There is a rare tv show I love that I know will never get an official DVD release unless I (or some other fan) get the rights and release it myself. I think I know who owns the rights, but I need advice on how this is normally done. Who exactly do you contact? What kind of proposal do you make? How much money would have to be involved? A complex question for a complex issue. It is a bit naive to believe that crime will suddenly ebb if marijuana is legalized. While it is true that many marijuana type offenses will ostensibly cease to exist with legalization, there would still be ancillary crimes that would occur.
It would be unfair to say that the objection to legalization is either a liberal or conservative position. There are people on both sides of the political aisle in favor and against legalization.
Probably the biggest reason marijuana is not legalized, is simply that no one really knows how to do it effectively. It has become an animal unto itself, consuming millions of dollars in enforcement, prosecution diversion and incarceration. It is in essence a self perpetuating industry, generating far more cash flow as an illicit drug then it would ever produce as a legalized substance. Even a program as simple and innocuous as medical marijuana is a bureaucratic screw up.
Having spent a career in law enforcement, beginning in the 70's and ending in the late 90's, I watched possession of less than an ounce go from a felony to a traffic ticket. I for one do believe in legalization of marijuana, as do many of my former peers. But as I said, until some senator or congressman is willing to tackle this complex issue, it will remain the "prohibition" nightmare of the late 20th and early 21st century.What/who keeps the government from legalizing marijuana and other drugs like that?

There are occasionally propositions on the state ballots that bit by bit etch away at it, such as giving rights for "Medical Marijuana".
And of course there are government organizations such as DEA and BATF that are oriented toward drug enforcement.
So maybe you have a new plan to help solve the national debt funding issue by which we transfer the great expense of economic recovery to future taxpayers to pay back... and if we could tax the dope smokers maybe we could repay those trillion dollar debts back a little sooner eh?
Hey well just keep writing to your congressman and senator and keep voting for people that inhale... that is the point, right?

After seeing some of the other answers for this question, i knew i had to answer it correctly. I have entered the ribbon syndicate myself due to the fact i have the game and the guide.
This is how to do it
Get 10 ribbons on 1 Pokemon. They cannot be spread around your team. It must be just 1 Pokemon (i used my Rampardos).
You can get ribbons from winning contests, but that is very hard. Here are some other ribbons that might help:
Footstep Ribbon - make your pokemon happy
Effort Ribbon - make you pokemon powerful and use it a lot
Classic Ribbon - this comes on an event pokemon. If you get an event pokemon try giving that one lots of ribbons. That would mean you would only need 9 more instead of 10.
Hall of fame ribbon - if you defeat the elite four, you pokemon who helped you win the elite four gets a ribbon.
Hoeen hall of fame ribbon - if you pal park a ribbon collecting pokemon, if that pokemon had a hoenn elite four ribbon, that contributes to the 10 ribbons.
